Shortly after the completion of the shell construction we have sold the 194th apartment of the new construction project ++ nio ++ in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg. The selling of this last unit successfully completes this real estate project, which includes a total of 159 flats, 10 garden apartments, 21 penthouse apartments and four townhouses.

The project’s success speaks for itself: after a sales period of just 15 months, more than 85% of the new, modern housing units were sold. The high demand is partly thanks to the attractive and coveted location of this lively Berlin district. Here, in the Scandinavian Quarter, located in the immediate vicinity of the historic “Bornholmer Bridge,” the new block of buildings fills a large empty gap in the urban fabric and complements the existing residential neighborhood with its modern and open architecture. The new ensemble, which will be completed in the summer, also has two completely different styles, making it equally attractive for singles, couples and families. The design by the architecture firm Klaus Theo Brenner – Stadtarchitektur, which includes classic basic forms and facades for the buildings on both Bornholmer- and Malmöer Strasse, is based on Berlin’s typical Wilhelminian-style apartment houses. Three additional apartment buildings with two garden units and four townhouses were constructed along Finnländische Straße and are characterized by their modernity. The designs of these more spacious apartments are by architects Ester Bruzkus and Patrick Batek, who use contrasting surfaces – such as reinforced concrete, metal mesh and wooden panels – for their façade surfaces and have designed the apartments as a “Gesamtkunstwerk” down to the interiors.

The property also has a special significance for us: it is our largest new building project to date in exclusive distribution. We have since expanded this focus. With NeuHouse – an ensemble of new and landmarked structures in the trendy Kreuzberg neighborhood – we are responsible for the marketing and sale of 75 condominiums. In addition, we have recently begun to market two additional new construction projects in Berlin-Dahlem and Treptow-Köpenick.
