News from the NeuHouse construction site
The summerly weather does not only make for a wonderful atmosphere in Berlin, also the work on the NeuHouse construction site benefits from the excellent conditions. The building shell continues to grow story by story, while there is also continuous progress on the inside – the building services have already been pre-installed on the ground floor.
Plenty has happened in the pre-WWII building as well. As can be seen from the outside, the old roof plane has been demolished. The new roof truss including steel construction for the penthouse will be assembled here shortly. In addition, extensive restoration work is being carried out with great attention to detail on the interior of the building, and an elevator is being installed. The highlight here is that the lift is not installed from the outside as usual in old buildings, but integrated into the building in order to preserve the listed façade. Furthermore, the necessary preparations in the listed pre-WWII building have been completed to such an extent that the gap to the directly adjacent new construction can be closed.
The work on the construction site is running very smoothly and is perfectly on schedule. Also, the date for the topping-out ceremony is set! We will be celebrating the completion of the shell and roof on 6th of September 2018.
Here are some impressions of the construction site in its current state:
