NeuHouse: News from the construction site
Looking at the progress and current impressions of the NeuHouse construction site, you would hardly guess this new construction project was only launched in July of this year! A lot has happened throughout the past three months and significant progress has been made.
The earthworks have already been completed inside the new construction, and in the beginning of September, the concrete work was started. Meanwhile, the walls of the basement floor are almost finished, allowing for taking the next step of adding the ceiling panels shortly. Further measures will be the addition of the Berlin-type pit lining, as well as filling and compacting the basement floor walls with soil.
The work inside the landmarked pre-WWII building moves forward very nicely as well. Before it was entirely gutted, the foundations had to be strengthened due to the new construction being on the subjacent levels. Furthermore, the basement footing was lowered, and a new, load-bearing base plate was added. On the remaining floors, ailing components are being exchanged for new ones, and the preparations for the dismantling of the roof are being made.
